A Dog Movie and a Dog

Betty says, The night before the Gridley show, hubby and I happened to have watched a dog movie:  Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009).  It's a remake of a Japanese movie that told the real story of a very loyal dog, an Akita named Hachi in the 1930s who sat at the train station for 10 years waiting for his owner to come home.    The three dog actors, one puppy, one adult dog and one senior dog, are excellent.  The first hour of the movie is delightful showing the bonding of Hachi with his human played by Richard Gere.   The second half of the movie is hard to watch without a box of Kleenex, it's a real tearjerker.

I was still thinking about Hachi and the excellent dog acting in the movie when I arrived at Gridley, the first sight seen is this cute Akita puppy taking a walk with his mama.  His mama said his name is Mochi, a Japanese sweet treat.

It's hard not to be taken by Mochi, got to have a photo with him.

Google "Hachi" and you will see the photos, videos, articles about Hachi from the 1920s and 1930s.  If you plan to watch the movie, have a box of Kleenex ready.
