John and Maureen Attend an Art Class

The art classes seem to be popular right now and John surprised Maureen with spots for the two of them in a pet painting session.  John sent Wesson and Brad's head shots a couple of weeks ago and they sketch them out on a canvas then it is John and Maureen's job to paint in the lines.

Maureen says, " It was not easy! "

Here are the finished products of John and Maureen's art class.  John is carrying the portrait of Wesson and Maureen carrying the portrait of Brad.

John and Maureen have a history of rescuing dogs and cats from the street.  Here is Wesson's rescue:

"He was found crossing the street (in a cross walk no less) about a mile from where we found Brad.  We followed him into an apartment complex where he proceeded to 'dumpster dive' for his dinner.  John had some dog food in the van and we put some in a bowl and I gently lifted a loose lead around his neck as he ate.  He smelled like cooking oil so I called him Wesson.  He was thin and had lots of fleas."

Wesson sure does not have to dumpster dive for food and he does not have flea anymore, he is now well cared for by John and Maureen.   Lucky dog.

A little over a year ago, John and Maureen saw a Pit Bull running in a field.  They tried to catch it but could not.  By the time Maureen finished her errands, someone had caught the Pit Bull and brought it into John and Maureen's kennel.   The dog was healthy so John and Maureen waited for his owner to show up.  After several days of waiting, Maureen named him Brad Pit and took him to her vet to be checked, got the shots and got him neutered.   Maureen was hoping for someone to adopt Brad but now Brad is pretty much a part of the family.    Here are some of our previous posts about Brad Pit:

Now the two portraits are hanging on the wall at John and Maureen's family room.
