The Mush Room at Mushroom Mardi Gras

Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras is finally here.

 

 

 

The "Mush Room" is the place to learn about mushrooms.

We all know about the supermarket regular White Button mushrooms, but there are so many more that are commercially grown: Crimini, Portabella, Enoki, Oyster, Maitake and Shiitake.

Here are some comic buttons of the six less common varieties of mushrooms.

Yummy mushrooms in a basket.  The top is the Portabella, the right is the Crimini and the left is the regular White Button.   The Crimini looks and tastes so similar to the Portabella that it's called "Baby Portabella" in most of the markets.
