Yarns Made From Sevenah's Wool

Betty says,

Sevenah is one of my favorite rabbits. She won the Best of Breed in the 2007 ARBA convention and won all breed Best In Show several times. She is very sweet, easy to groom, easy to handle and her babies are great; some of her notable offspring are convention and multiple Best In Show winners Susie, Swanka, Lilianna and Lucianna. In addition to Sevenah's winning and breeding records, she produces tons of wool.

Beautiful Sevenah in her showing days. This picture was taken when she was 8 months old.

In late December 2010 Sevenah gave birth to two beautiful daughters. She pulled so much wool that if all were used in the nestbox, the babies would have faced the danger of being suffocated. I picked up 5 ounces of "spit balls" from her nest and make 94 yards of lumpy yarn in January. See post on: http://ncag.blogspot.com/2011/01/raiding-sevenahs-nestbox.html

Three months later, Sevenah is ready for another harvest. In early April, I cut her down and got over 8 ounces of wool of which 7-3/4 ounces are totally prime without one bit of webbing. I decided to make a skein of smooth two ply yarn. This skein weighs 7-3/4 ounces with the length of 222 yards

Sevenah is gorgeous, and that is an amazing amount of wool. I see where her lovely daughters get their good looks.
