Harvesting Sunflower Seeds

There was a huge sunflower plant with one single sunflower grown in our veggie garden.   No one actually planted it; sprouted from being mixed in the bunny poops? Carried by squirrels? Carried by birds?  We don't know.   The flower is beautiful, and huge too.

One day we found the flower full of black sunflowers dropped to the ground, probably too heavy.

After some shaking and poking, the sunflowers seeds are harvested.

Putting the harvested sunflower seeds in the pan and roasted them, pretty tasty.
