Jersey Wooly, Miniature French Angora?

Here are three broken Jersey Wooly on the table during the Portola Valley Show.

In these two photos the two breeds don't look too much alike except both have wool and this case, both are broken pattern.  However in the 1980s when the Jersey Wooly breed was in the development stage, these two breeds looked very much alike except for the size.  The French Angora were a lot smaller than today's French Angora and with a lot less wool.   Even with less size and wool, it was still considered as too big for the pet market.    Bonnie Seely of New Jersey supplied to pet stores, she was asked by the pet store to develop smaller size French Angora.  She crossed bred the French Angora with the Netherland Dwarf to bring down the size with the goal of making miniature French Angora for the pet market.     At the time when Jersey Wooly was accepted, the breed looked like small size French Angora.

Over the years, some breeders bred back the Jersey Wooly to Netherland Dwarf to acquire the Netherland Dwarf look of  short ears and bold head.   At the current time, the Jersey Wooly are treasured for resembling the Netherland Dwarf with wool.
