Menn Family Add New Members

Dominique holding Sully, Tyler and Elsa holding Luke on day one.

Luke with his matted baby coat.

Luke after grooming and bath, what a handsome boy.

Sully was very thin and his coat all matted.

He is not yet fatten up but he is clean and groomed.

Two happy brothers, new members of the Menn family.

Gabrielle reports a kind act:

"On the last day of school, we were invited to a classmate's swim party. The mother asked me, "Do you know of anyone that wants dogs?" We have been patiently waiting and watching shelters and rescues for the last year and a half for a Standard Poodle, black, silver, or chocolate. I had a miniature poodle when I was a girl, and my mom had one when she was a girl. I asked her, "What breed?" "Toy Poodles." I sighed. Poodles are a very commonly neglected breed because, like angora rabbits, perspective owners get caught up in the "cute" factor and overwhelmed with the grooming requirements.

I went over to meet the dogs. One was a very thin an bony solid black. (You could feel every vertebrae and rib.) The other was a black and silver, still thin, but not as bony. They were only five-months-old. Their baby coats were matted. Well, they were the breed and color that we wanted, but not the right size.

After discussing it with Curt, and going back that evening for him to meet them, we decided that we didn't want to risk them not going to a good home. We talked about them for two more days before deciding to take them into our home. Once I was able to show proof of rabies vaccine, I was able to get them scheduled with the grooming salon.

So, we've only had them for less than a week, but here they are: before and after! (And the good news is that they came from a home with a rabbit, so are not phased at all by ours!)"

What fine news! Congratulations and heartfelt thanks. Have a terrific time with these handsome lads.

Best wishes (and, for the pups, chest scritches),

    Kathy
