Mushroom Mardi Gras

Gilroy started the Garlic Festival 32 years ago. A year later, Morgan Hill started the Mushroom Mardi Gras.

The Garlic Festival is world famous; each year in July the festival would be in news everywhere while Mushroom Mardi Gras is usually quiet and low key. Mushroom is just not as "sexy" as Garlic.

The good thing about the Mushroom Mardi Gras is that it's free! Free admission and free parking. This year, the weather forecast shows that the temperature will be in the high 70s and sunny, a perfect day for outdoor activities. There will be lots of good food, entertainment and vendors.

Hope you will be able to join the fun.

Tomorrow is our anniversary! We are thinking of coming up to Gilroy Gardens for a day, either Sat or Sun. I will be sure to mention to Pete about the Mushroom Mardi Gras.

It's a two-day event, come on either day. Parking is at the Cal Train free parking lot off Butterfield then walk across the train track to 3rd street where most of the activities are. It should be fun.
