Susie Says Goodbye To Her Show Coat

ARBA Convention English Angora BOB winner Susie is 15-1/2 months old, still in her gorgeous show coat.

Another shot of Susie from the front

With two grooming tables situated, Susie is getting ready to have her first hair cut.

Opening Susie's coat to start that very difficult first cut.

A little more cutting.

Susie's back is showing.

The second grooming table is ready to hold on to Susie's coat.

More of Susie's wool is off her body.

Most of Susie's wool are on the second grooming table. Her nice little body is visible.

Which one is Susie? The little one on the left or the puffy pile on the right?

Awww....:-) that must be so hard to make the first cut! Thats how I feel with mine...the first cut is the hardest, then its just amazing how little the bunny actually is and how much fibre you get from it.

Do you leave the facial/ear furnishings Betty?

    Vivelly:

I used to leave all the facial/ear furnishings on but found it easier to cut everything off to allow them to grow back more evenly.

    Susie's possible thoughts:

    What a relief!

Mom, how could you do this to me?

That's mine, you can't have it!

    It's so cold, what happened?

Is there a handsome buck coming to visit me soon?

Are there babies under all that?

    ......

lol! My bucks are actually trying to mate with their pile of wool! I cut them like Betty (those Fiscar scissors work really well, thank you for the tip)and pile the wool up when I am finished next to the bunny and as soon as the pile of wool is spotted they get so excited at "the pretty girl next to me!" lol....stupid Angoras, dont we love them! :-)

    Vivelly, regarding your bucks wanting to mate with the pile of wool....maybe the fact that they are male and not just English Angora explains it (;

Betty, That is just too funny! I can see why Dalton felt it was true love.
