Animal Statues at the Monterey Fairgrounds
Monterey Fairgrounds have some of the most interesting statues.
The top picture shows a cow-like animal with a baby goat. The sign says "Surrogate Mother".
The second photo shows a mama pig on her side nursing her piglets. All the faces show happiness and content.
The third one gave us a shock last year when the statue was placed in a different direction. The back end was anatomically correct and facing the opposite direction. Now we can see the side view but not from the back.
These statues seem to be either made of cement or very heavy wood. It is not possible to move any of them.

It's a pig. Sorry that we did not make it clear.

It looks like th Britney-Spears-giving-birth sculpture that caused a furore a few months ago.
