Betty and Alice, 65 years of Besties

Alice and I went to high school together, we were besties then and still besties now.  Alice lives in Taiwan but comes to Bay Area to visit her son and family once a year or so.  From teenagers to oldies, we have a 60 plus years of history together.      Alice is also retired as I am, she is now into painting, she gifted me a painting of cats.  Isn't she quite an artist?

This is a close up of Alice's painting.  Why cats?  You may recall my two white kittens that came from Merced County Fairgrounds.

This is the photo that Alice based her painting on.  Bao Bao on the right and Bei Bei on the left when they were about 4 months old.   They were caught at the Merced County Fairgrounds when they were 4 weeks old, Albert and I drove all the way there to adopt them.

I got to return Alice's favor and also to show off a bit of my artistic side: I knitted a bunny for her.  The face, ears and the legs are made of my handspun English Angora yarn, the yarn in the middle is kinda interesting: it was made in Taiwan some 50 years ago when Taiwan was yet to be developed into an electronic giant.   There isn't any factory that produces yarn or similar products anymore.   This yarn is basically a rare antique!  (Thanks to Carol Green who found it and gifted it to me).
