Showroom Scenes at Merced

Big Valley Rabbit Association holds the triple open, triple youth and double open and youth cavy shows at the big barn in Merced on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Judge Ray Stacy counts 2400 entries, 36 breeds entered in the show.

The barn is huge, even with so many entries, exhibitors still have lots of room to move around.

The wool corner.  Wool exhibitors like to be a bit far away from the center of the showroom, we are very careful to make sure that the wool would not interfere with others rabbits.

Another view from the wool corner.

What are these big round things hanging from the ceiling?

Here is a close look from the side.

Another close up from the front.

These big things come in very handy at the show.  It was a hot day peaked at 95 degrees.  These are the big fans controlled by a computer center in Indiana.    You are not reading it wrong, we are in California but these fans are automatically turned on or off based on the temperature in the barn, and the control center is located in Indiana.

With the temperature soaring in the afternoon, we all move around to catch the breeze from these big fans.

This is the secretary's corner.  Dolores Morris is sitting at her helm to make sure everything is going on smoothly.

This is the cavy corner.   The little ones don't use up as much space as the rabbits.
