Gorgeous Sakura

The Japanese name of Cherry Blossom is Sakura, it is the unofficial national flower of Japan.

 

April is the month for holding the Cherry Blossom Festival, Cherry Blossoms are at the height of their beauty.  The Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival is currently going on at Japantown in San Francisco during the two weekends of April 8-9 and 15-16, 2023.   

These are double cherry blossom trees that are extremely beautiful and bloom gloriously for a short time.  They do not produce cherry or prune.

These trees are located at the front entrance of a Japanese church in Sacramento area, we thank Carolyn for taking these beautiful photos.
