Old Friend Cheryl

At Reno ARBA convention, Cheryl says, "Betty, let's have a selfie".

Betty says, "Let's find someone to take a pic of us".

Cheryl is Cheryl Eng-Link, most will recognize her as the chair of the ARBA Standard Committee in the earl 2010s.   Cheryl and I started corresponding around 1991 and met in person in 1992, she was not yet a judge.  We had a lot in common in addition to be rabbit lovers, she was a high school principal and I was a college professor.   There were so few Asians involved in raising rabbits, we were standouts for being different.  A bit later Sandra Tsukiyama from Hawaii became well-known for her DR cooking column.   People got mixed up on three of us quite a lot during conventions in the old days.  We were thinking about making T-shirts for each of us:

"I am Sandra, not Cheryl, not Betty"
"I am Betty, not Sandra, not Cheryl"
"I am Cheryl, not Betty, not Sandra".

Luckily the rabbit fever has been exported to Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Philippines in recent years.   There are lots of Asians participating in ARBA conventions each year.  Three of us now blend in very well.
