Monique's First Coat and Matured Coat

Monique has a gorgeous first coat before one year old.

This is Monique when she was a junior.

Monique has a gorgeous color, further enhanced by the light reflection.
From these three photos of Monique with her first coat, we can see the wool is extremely dense but the guard hairs are not very evident.

At a year and half years old, Monique carries a very mature coat.  This is actually her 3rd coat.

I did not do a clean cut after her first coat, as a result her second coat came in with a mix of old and new coats.   I re-cut her and her coat came in even and bright.   The guard hairs are evident, the French Angora SOP is written to describe a mature coat than a first coat.   This coat is more representative of what the SOP wants.   Guard hairs are heavier than the wool that are light and airy.   A mature French Angora coat tends to be more drapey.

This is a closeup of the French Angora texture called for in the SOP.
