Basic Color Genetics: Black Fawn and Chocolate Fawn
We are discussing Fawn today.
In the SOP, there is no distinction between black fawn and chocolate fawn, there is just "Fawn". Fawn and it's diluted version Cream are classified as "Wide Band Group". It will be easier if the classification falls under Agouti because Fawn and Cream are both Agouti pattern A-, the bands are not as easy to see because of the lighter color of the wool due to the non-extension gene ee. It is probably the cause of being classified as "wide band".
How do you tell it's a black fawn? Look at the face and ears. There should be black tips. Similar to black tort, the color of the wool is usually a bit subtle. |
