Winter Melon Ready for Harvest

A young Winter melon

The white fuzz on the melon shows that it's getting mature.

Two not so ready but the one on the right is ready.

It's hard to believe that one little seed could result in so many huge melons.

These seeds are to be saved and dried for next year.  Hope we'll have the same luck to have a seed or two sprouts to get more melons.    If you see me in the show locally and wish to try growing them, let me know and I'll bring you a few.   It requires full sun, irrigation and several months to make it work, California climate is quite suitable.
