Getting a New Generator

Our new generator is delivered to our door.

Opening the box and set it up, here is our new generator.

The generator has good size power and three ways to turn it on.  The best one is a remote control key that looks like a car key.

We have been living in this house for over 40 years, did not have the need nor desire to have a generator, so why do we need one now?

You probably have seen scenes like this on your TV screen.   Fire has been a fact of life in many areas in California due to dry and windy conditions.    Though our home is not in these immediate areas, our utility company would shut off the power supply to large regions trying to prevent the fire resulted from the tangling up of power lines with trees that are not trimmed regularly or properly.   There were three rounds of shut offs during October, we got hit in the first round.  Though it was only one day, the uncertainly of the shut off to be extended to 5 days made our life difficult.   At that point, we decided to buy a generator to at least to support some appliances and the rabbit barn and the important blower that is a necessity for grooming Angoras.

Hopefully this will not be needed ever but it's a tool to give a peace of mind.
