Broken French Angora and Its Yarn

Checker is a broken French Angora.  In the rabbit terminology, "broken" means white combined with another color; Checker is a "broken chestnut agouti".     In the four breeds of Angora, broken is accepted for showing only in French Angora.

Checker has beautiful rings.   Agouti pattern requires clear ring definition.

This is the top view of Checker's broken pattern.   One of the requirements for broken to be "showable" is the 10-50 rule: the color part should be no less than 10% and no more than 50% of the pattern.

When the wool is harvested from a broken patterned rabbit, there will be white and colored in the yarn.  Here are two skeins of yarn spun from Checker's wool.
