Mid Autumn Festival 2013

Today is the Chinese Mid Autumn Festival. White rabbit is looking at the full moon waiting for Jade Rabbit to appear.

It is the belief in the Chinese tradition that on the 15th day of the 8th month on the lunar calendar, the moon is the fullest, roundest and brightest of the year.  It's a day for "Moon Appreciation".

This day of beautiful full moon is called the Mid Autumn Festival or the Moon Festival or even the "Rabbit Festival" due to the legend of Churn-O flying to the moon with her pet rabbit Jade. See: http://ncag.blogspot.com/2008/09/legend-of-mid-autumn-festival.html
