Domestic Rabbits With Angora

It's such a pleasure to receive the current issue of Domestic Rabbits with English Angora on the cover and a two-page article about German Angora vs. Giant Angora. It's not a common sight to see Angora being put on the center stage in the official ARBA publication. Enjoy it.

With English Angora bunnies on the cover, this is a great issue of Domestic Rabbits. The photo is taken by Betty and the two bunnies are the son and daughter of Chu's Susie.

Louise Walsh has an article about Giant Angora vs German Angora, this is the first page.

This is the second page of Louise Walsh's article. Louise presented Giant Angora successfully in 1988 during the ARBA convention in Madison, WI.

Thank you for sharing that, very interesting. I find it sad that the German Angora is not recognised by ARBA. I grew up with these animals in Germany and they are majestic and unbelievable fibre producers. We are lucky in NZ to still have pure German Angoras that originated from imports from Germany and Denmark. For me the only true commercial Angora rabbit.

I was excited, yesterday, when I checked my mail box and saw the Domestic Rabbits Issue and saw the Angoras being featured.
I liked the article by Louise Walsh, but also, we need to credit you, Betty, for a very nice article on the NARBA section pg. 51. You wrote quite well about how the Angoras serve multi-purposes, are labor intensive for shows, and possibilities of fiber related ventures. These are things people interested in angoras should be aware of.

Thank you all. I did give a lot of thoughts in writing my DR reports. I will work even harder in writing for the column.

We were also pleased to see how Angora-focused this issue was, and noticed that the cute babies on the cover belonged to you, Betty! We considered this issue one of the most interesting we had read, for your article as well as the German vs. Giant article.
