Pennsylvania State Convention is known for its size and fun. It is not unusual to have 4000 to 6000 rabbits in the show. There are also specialty shows and youth royalty contests held in conjunction with the state convention.

Alex had a wonderful time and achieved everything that she prepared for in this convention. She won the royalty contest, was crowned "Queen" of the PA State Convention. Then her English Angora lilac tort senior doe won the youth Best In Show in the specialty show judged by our Randy.

Alex has been breeding and showing English Angora for several years. Some of her rabbits have California connection. In 2005, she bought a lilac tort doe from Charlie and this doe won the colored senior doe class in youth in the 2005 convention. Alex's Angora Acres Aries, the youth BIS winner, is a daughter of Charlie's doe. Aries bears a striking resemblance to her mother.

Randy has commented to us how well this "young lady" has done in the PA convention. Her rabbits were beautiful and that she was poised. From these pictures, we can see why Randy was very impressed with her.

Alex is indeed a wonderful young lady who not only showed her angoras very well, but was a ready volunteer to help with writing and running for the judges. Such assistance is soooooooo welcome at a big show like this one. Alex is the PaSRBA State Rabbit Club Queen for 2008 and the State Rabbit Commodity representative for the year. Both contests are based on participation, knowledge, expertise and scholastic aptitude in all aspects of rabbit husbandry. I'm certain she will represent rabbits, and especially Angoras, well throughout the state this year.
