Rabbits Celebrate New Year in Japan

Maiko sends photos of her rabbits celebrating New Year. The rabbits are enjoying the Japanese traditional decorations.

Mikan orange on top of the two sweet rice cake symbolize good luck; the words on the braided rice straw rope says "Welcome Spring", the words in front of the gate pine says "Praise Spring". In Japanese, the names of these decorations are Kagamimochi, Shimenawa, and Kadomatsu.
