Lou Gaschke Remembered

We received very sad news this morning. Nancy Chaussee says,

"It is with heartfelt sadness that I need to let you know that Lou passed away on Sunday as a result of complications from his recent heart surgery. He will be sorely missed! nc"

Lou was a beloved member of the rabbit community. He had been judging for a long time, longer than most could tell. He was awarded "Lifetime Registrar" by ARBA several years ago. He was very active in several clubs such as Rice Bowl RBA, the PacWest Show Circuit, the Northern California RBA, ... that put on many shows. He was also a minister in his church.

Photos on this page were taken on December 3, 2005 in the NCRBA show in Yuba City. The second picture is Lou and wife Jane. The third picture is Lou and Betty with Emilia. The last picture is Lou with the BIS and RIS winners Betty and Tami. The very left is Judge Sharon who jointly picked the winners with Lou.

This show was Lou's farewell show; he retired his judges license after this show. Betty met Lou in September 1982 when she showed English Angora for the first time. She was very honored to have received the last Best In Show that Lou had ever picked in Lou's farewell show.

We will miss Lou.
