Casey’s Temporary Normal

Casey's property in Vacaville sustained lots of damages during the LNU fire.   Her house is standing but her rabbit barn was burned down.   The area around her home lose all utilities as the power poles all burned, it is still a red mandatory evacuation zone.   Cal Fire issued passes to residents to go back to clean up and work on their properties but no one is allowed to live there.    Casey is fortunate to have supportive friends; after staying with her in-laws for a few days, Leslie invited Casey and family and animals to stay at son's home while they are in the east coast.    Casey set up her rabbits in carriers on the porch.   All her regular cages and barn are lost in the fire, the carriers are now a "normal" for her rabbits until a new barn is built and new cages purchased.    Though the carriers are small, rabbits are safe and adjusted to the new normal.   Casey's hubby Jeff had not seen how Casey set up in multiple-day shows, now he knew and was quite impressed.

These are Casey's 3 dogs.   They are free to roam in the yard, adjusting to the new normal well.   On the upper right is Casey's cart that rolls the rabbit carriers or dog kennels.

It will take weeks or even months before the power/utilities to be restored.  Jeff works at the property everyday, Casey spends some days working but also needs to prepare paper work for insurance.   This is her new temporary normal, she has a good attitude, concentrating in what she has and not thinking too much about what she lost.
